About Billy King

Billy King can look back on an impressive career at 1.60m level. He achieved great results in international classes with riders such as Valentin Valkov and Florian Meyer zu Hartum before his breeder, Paul Schockemöhle, sold him to Suus Kuyten. She competed him at the highest level for several more years, achieving success at international competitions such as Vejer de la Frontera, Drachten, Lier, Wierden, Lummen, Eindhoven and Arezzo. Suus praises Billy King for his fantastic mindset, unlimited scope, elegant type and good canter. From 2017 to 2019, the stallion continued to perform in international classes with Harrie Wiering. They won, among other achievements, the opening class of the Sires of the World in Lanaken and secured multiple podium finishes in 1.40m classes. After proving himself in top-level sport for years, Billy King has been available for breeding for several years. As a young horse, he already produced a small number of offspring, with the oldest performing at 1.50/1.60m level, such as Baloufina and Babuk. Billy King is sired by the legendary Baloubet du Rouet, who won Olympic gold and three World Cup Finals under Rodrigo Pessoa. In breeding, he has proven his great value as the sire of top showjumpers such as Palloubet d’Halong, Bubalu VDL, GC Arrayan, Bonne Chance, Todt Un Prince ASK and Chaman. Billy King’s dam, Petula, also foaled the international 1.40/1.45m level horses Tailormade Mequilot PS and Coco Blue Floreval, and is herself a half-sister to the Grand Prix horse Baloupetra ridden by Markus Merschformann. From this Westphalian damline originate various international showjumpers.
